Rádio Nova Brasil FM 89.7

NovaBrasil FM São Paulo is a Brazilian radio station based in São Paulo, capital of the homonymous state. It operates on the FM dial, on the frequency 89.7 MHz, and is its own station and network head of NovaBrasil FM, owned by Grupo Thathi de Comunicação.

Launched by Paulo Machado de Carvalho and Silvio Santos, 89.7 MHz was called FM Record and was a broadcaster with adult programming from 1977 to September 1989 (including retransmission by part of Rádio Record) and youth programming from October 1989 to 1996 In 1989 it was renamed Nova FM Record and in 1992 Nova FM.

In June 1989, it was sold to the Sol Panamby Organisations, owned by businessman and politician Orestes Quércia, changing its name to Nova FM Record. In 1992, it starts to answer only by the name of Nova FM, maintaining its young programming with Dance Music and Pop. At the end of March 1996, Nova FM changed its programming, starting to broadcast adult-contemporary music. From the purchase of stations from the Manchete FM network (including another FM frequency in São Paulo), Nova FM gave way to NovaBrasil FM from June 1, 2000, when it started to dedicate itself to contemporary MPB. The change made the audience grow 54% in three months, with an average of 24,200 listeners per minute.

In October 2020, the sale of the NovaBrasil FM network and the other communication companies of the Solpanamby Group to the Thathi de Comunicação Group, owned by businessman Chaim Zaher, based in Ribeirão Preto, is confirmed. The new administration takes over the following month.
