Muntakhib Kalam Written By Classical Poet Hazrat Maulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri.
The great Sufi poet Hazrat Maulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri was born on Monday 29th January 1849 at village Alampur, tehsil Dasuha, district Hoshiarpur, India and he demised on 7th March 1892 at the age of 43 years only.He is Gujjar by caste and sub-caste was kisana. His father’s name was Chaudhry Murad Bakhsh. His mother’s name was Mohtarma Rehmat Bibi. The mother of Hazrat Maulvi Sahib has died when he reached at the age of 6 months only and his father died when Hazrat Moulvi Sahib was only 12 years old. Hazrat Maulvi Sahib was the only child of his parents. Hazrat Maulvi Sahib got married thrice. He had two daughters, Ayesha Bibi and Khadija Bibi. Sahibzada Masud Ahmed is a son of Razia Begum who is the maternal daughter of Hazrat Maulvi Sahib and Sahibzada Masud Ahmed is a maternal grandson of Hazrat Maulvi Sahib. He played a historical role and laid the foundation of Hazrat Maulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri Trust on Friday 30 November 1990. Two books of Sahibzada Masud Ahmed were published on life history and work of Hazrat Maulvi Sahib. The first book with the title of “Doonghey Raaz” (A study regarding Moulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri) was published in 1999. The book is included in the course of M.A level in Pakistan.His second book with the title of “Moulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri: Personality and Work” has published by the “Pakistan Academy of Letters” in 2011. The book named “Moulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri: Personality & Works” and the same was translated into Gurmukhi script by the “Language & Literature Department” Patiala, India and published it.The work of Hazrat Maulvi Ghulam Rasool Alampuri has also been included in the curriculum from matriculation to MA level in Pakistan. Two PhDs have also been completed on him. His available books are Daastan Ameer Hamza, Rooh ul Tarteel, Ahsan ul Qasas, Masla e Tauheed, Seeh Harfi Hulya Sharif (P.B.U.H), Chithian, Seeh Harfi Sassi Punnu, Chopat Nama, Pandh Nama and Maa’rb ul Khashien.
