Imlie

Imlie is an Indian Hindi-language television drama series that premiered on 16 November 2020.Produced by Gul Khan, it stars Sumbul Touqeer Khan and Gashmeer Mahajani. The series is a loose adaptation of Bengali series Ishti Kutum.

Several circumstances lead to a compromised marriage of Aditya and Imlie, two mutually-unfamiliar people. Soon after marriage, Aditya brings Imlie to his residence as a house-helper and hides his relationship from everyone. Later, he gets engaged to his girlfriend, Malini and marries her, leaving Imlie dejected. Over time, Imlie and Aditya fall in love with each-other and same is revealed to Malini and the family. While Malini initially decides to move on, the family is dejected and refuses to accept Imlie as a part of the household. However, Malini soon realises she is unable to move on from Aditya and by initial influence from her mother, she decides to win back Aditya. Imlie faces trials by family, love and society. Her attempts at accomplishing her goals in making a career for herself, along with being a responsible wife and daughter-in-law forms the crux of the show.
