David Martin was a pastor and theologian born in Revel. He studied Theology, Philosophy, History and Oriental languages ​​(Hebrew in particular). After the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, he had to go into exile. Being a Protestant, he was hunted down and had to go to Holland, where he began to write books on science and theology.
