The Almeida Revised and Corrected Bible in Portuguese is a revision of the translation by João Ferreira Almeida, the ARC. João Ferreira Almeida made the first version in Portuguese, in 1569. Over the years, different revisions appeared.

The Almeida Corrigida version was the result of the work of specialists in biblical studies, who achieved a balance between cultured and popular language. They replaced archaic expressions with more modern ones.

Currently, Almeida Revista Corrigida is the most popular and most used Bible in Brazil by Catholics and Protestants.

The Bible, before being written, was transmitted through oral tradition. It was later written into manuscripts by over 40 authors over a period of over 1500 years.
