Grant of Indian Citizenship to 6 minorities from Afghanistan,Bangladesh&Pakistan
This mobile application has been developed by Government of India for grant of Indian citizenship belonging to six minority communities viz. Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian community from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan who are covered under Section 6B of the Citizenship Act, 1955 as envisaged under the Citizenship(Amendment) Act,2019 (CAA 2019). CAA 2019 aims to provide grant of Indian citizenship to migrants belonging to the Hindus, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian community form Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who had entered India on or before 31/12/2014 and those who were exempted by the Central Government by or under clause (c) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Passport (Entry into India) Act,1920 (34 of 1920) or from the applications of the provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946 (31 of 1946) or any rule or order made there under. In accordance with Section 6B of the Citizenship Act, 1955 as inserted vide Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA), the Government of India has notified the appropriate Rules, Conditions, Restrictions and methods for making and processing of applications made by such Persons who are covered under Section 6B of the Citizenship Act, 1955 (CAA).
